Homeschool families are encouraged to participate in several homeschool extension opportunities offered at MPCS throughout the year. These opportunities include weekly chapels, academic experiences, arts and athletic events, and many summer programs. These events and programs offer options for homeschool students to further their learning and community experiences.

Homeschool hybrid enrollment now open

MPCS is offering a pilot Homeschool Hybrid program for the 2018-2019 academic year for students in kindergarten and first grade. This pilot program will provide a two-and-a-half-day option for families who have chosen a homeschool option and want to experience the exemplary advantages of MPCS. participate in chapels

Chapels are offered for students PK through high school, all at the appropriate grade levels. Homeschool students may attend selected chapel services throughout the year. Lower school chapels take place at 9:00 a.m., middle school at 10:40 a.m., and high school at noon each Wednesday. For details on open chapel dates, please contact the Admission Office.

Makerspace meetups

Makerspace gives homeschool students the opportunity to participate in multi-station, hands-on, center-based experimentation. Each station is designed for learning, creating, exploring, and collaborating on ideas and ways to solve problems. Join us for one or all of the Makerspace Meet-ups in the Myrick Media Center of MPCS at 9:45 a.m. on the dates offered below. As a fun add-on, homeschool families may also choose to attend lower school chapel before the makerspace activities at 9:00 a.m. To RSVP for any of the Makerspace dates, please click here.

Dates for the 2018-19 school year Makerspace Meetups will be posted soon!

Families with children ages two through six may participate in free STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) classes offered for preschoolers. Children are never too young to develop skills in creative play and STEAM concepts. In these sessions, students will conduct science experiments, explore math concepts via iPad Osmos, problem-solve building challenges, and create masterpieces on SMART Tables. The sessions are free and open to the community.

Arts & Athletics

MPCS Soaring Eagle Marching Band is looking for middle and high school students to join this award-winning band. This is a terrific opportunity for students interested in music or color guard to take part in a full-scale school marching band. From Friday night lights to sanctioned band competitions, students will take their skills to the next level. Please contact Cary Brague, director of arts, for more information.
The Murray Arts Academy provides after-school instruction in dance, drama, and music for individuals wishing to advance their training in the arts. Classes meet at the Murray Arts Center music and dance studios, and culminate in "open studio" performances, recitals, and concerts. For information and offerings please click here.
Families involved at MPCS through various Homeschool Connections are always welcome to attend athletic events on campus. Football games include a pre-game family tailgate with food trucks, jumpies, and a DJ. Festivities take place two hours before kickoff. The annual Eagle Fest fall festival in October is another great way to connect and join in some wholesome family fun.
