MPC Summer Workouts 2026

Optional summer workouts for strength and agility are available to all MPC athletes in any sport, rising grades 5-12. Workouts are held in the Knox Athletic Performance Center. Please read this important information about how you can leverage the services offered to your athletes on campus to prepare to be their best come competition time next season.

WHO SHOULD TRAIN?

Training sessions are offered free of charge to any enrolled student in rising grades 5-12 who compete (or would like to compete) on any one of our sports teams. To properly staff our sessions, we are asking each family to fill out the form below — one for each athlete participating.

ATHLETE SUMMER WORKOUT SIGN-UP

This will give us an accurate count of athletes who have committed to attend each session. Please ensure your athlete arrives on time for each session. Training will begin promptly, and arriving late may result in missed attendance, instruction, and warm-up.

WHEN IS TRAINING?

Summer Workouts begin June 1 and end July 23. Sessions are on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

WHAT DOES A WORKOUT LOOK LIKE?

The high school workout is scheduled for an hour and thirty minutes and is designed to develop total-body strength, speed, and power while building toughness and discipline. Athletes will train in a structured, high-intensity environment focused on proper technique to prepare them for the physical demands of varsity-level competition. There will be a portion of training that will be spent on the field where cleats can be worn. Athletes must wear closed-toe, laced shoes for training in the weightroom.

The middle school workout is scheduled for 45 minutes and is designed to emphasize fundamentals, coordination, and body control while introducing strength and speed training. Athletes will learn proper technique, build confidence, and develop a strong foundation for future athletic development. Athletes must wear close-toed, laced shoes for training in the weightroom.

Strength Coach, Carter Smith, along with several other members of our varsity coaching staff, will be running the training sessions each week. For questions, please reach out to Coach Smith at csmith@mtparanschool.com

NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

At the conclusion of the summer, MPC athletics will host the Night of Champions on July 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the Knox Athletic Performance Center weightroom. This highly-respected event is designated for high school athletes who have attended at least 50% of the summer workouts offered. Athletes are provided the opportunity to compete in the bench press, sumo deadlift, vertical jump, and the 5-10-5 agility drill. There will be an overall male champion and an overall female champion. More information will be communicated to the athletes that qualify this summer.

"Do you not know your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?
You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”
