Spring Semester Testing for Grades 3-8

MPCS will conduct testing in April for grades 3-8.

Lower school students in grades 3-5 will begin MAP testing the week of April 20, 2026 from 8:00-10:30 a.m.

Middle school students will test Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday the week of April 20, 2026.

We ask parents during testing weeks to help their children get ample sleep, eat a balanced breakfast, and arrive on time on testing days. Please refrain from scheduling doctor's appointments on these days if possible.

About the MAP® Test

MPCS utilizes the MAP® Growth™ test from NWEA® for students in grades 3-8. MAP® Growth™ scores help teachers check student performance by consistently measuring achievement and growth both within and across grade levels. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons. Following each testing period, parents will be able to view their student's results online in FACTS.

The MAP® Growth™ measures achievement and growth across various subsections. Students in grades 3-8 will take three subtests: reading, language usage, and math.  Although MAP testing has unlimited time, each subtest typically takes about 45-60 minutes.

MAP® Growth™ tests are unique for each student, adapting to your child’s responses to measure skill level. If your child answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If he/she answers incorrectly, the next question is easier. These results provide a more complete picture of what your child knows and is ready to learn.
