Service Opportunities for Families and Students

We encourage students and families to get involved by volunteering both on campus and in the community. MPCS offers multiple serving opportunities that can be utilized to fulfill high school service hour requirements and more.

Service hours are an important part of our students’ growth and community involvement! Hours can be earned on campus, at church, in the community, on mission trips, during Serve Saturdays, and at various non-profit organizations. Students should log all completed hours through the Track it Forward website or mobile app for approval, and confirmed hours can be viewed in their FACTS portal.

Use the Volunteer Sign-Up button below to review the options and sign up for times to serve in concessions, on Serve Saturdays, and other club service opportunities.

Service Hours for High School Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors and Service Opportunities Open to Everyone in the MPCS Family

As part of our commitment to developing servant-leaders, Mount Paran Christian School requires all high school students in the Classes of 2027, 2028, and 2029 to complete 20 service hours each school year, totaling 80 hours by graduation. This important requirement encourages students to engage with their communities, grow in compassion, and build strong college resumes.

Service hours may be completed in a variety of ways, including volunteering on campus, at church, within the community, during mission trips, or through nonprofit organizations. On-campus opportunities include helping in concessions, participating in Serve Saturdays, or engaging in club-related service projects. All hours served on or off campus are counted. Hours gained through the service clubs requirements also count for inclusion toward the 20-hour requirement. All service hours for the current school year must be completed and submitted by the start of AP Exams in early May. After this date, students may begin earning service hours for the following school year.

To explore upcoming opportunities, students and families should click the calendar link to view current ways to serve. After volunteering, students must log all completed hours through the Track it Forward website or mobile app. Once submitted, approved hours will appear in Track It Forward and in the student’s FACTS portal under the “Family Home” section.

Parents are encouraged to serve alongside their students. Concession stand shifts, in particular, offer a meaningful way to get involved, meet other families, and foster community spirit. While concessions remain a high-need area, additional service opportunities are also listed on the calendar throughout the year.

Service Hours FAQs

May I receive credit for volunteering hours over the summer?

Yes, any hours worked serving on campus (eg. summer camps, uniform shop, athletic clinic helpers) or in the community (church or non-profit) will count. Many of our students serve at their church VBS and have been able to complete their requirements for the year.

Where may I find volunteer opportunities?

MPCS on-campus opportunities may be found on the volunteer calendar. In addition, many local non-profit organizations offer service opportunities. Look for “volunteer” or “serve” on their websites for more details.

I brought in food for our Fall Food Drive. Does that count for service hours?

While we encourage and appreciate your philanthropic endeavors, students need to be physically serving in order to receive credit to satisfy the graduation service requirement. Community service hours should be completed through non-profit organizations (classified as a 501(c)(3) organization).

I do chores and help my parents around the house all the time. Can I get service hours for helping clean the garage or babysitting my siblings?

No, simply working without payment does not qualify. All service hours should be completed through non-profit organizations or the school.

How do I submit hours I have completed off campus?

All hours can be tracked using the Track It Forward mobile app or website.

TRACK SERVICE HOURS

I’m a member of a service club and already have to earn more than 20 hours of service for that club. Do I need even more hours?

No! If you track hours for a service club on campus, those hours will also count toward your graduation requirement.
