Alumnus Adam King '99 Awarded the 2026 Servant-Leader Award

Alumni Adam King '99 was awarded the 2026 Mount Paran Christian School Servant-Leader Alumnus of the Year Award.

A graduate of 1999 from Mount Paran, his journey of service began right here as a student. During a chapel service as a senior at MPCS, he felt a clear calling to ministry specifically to invest in the lives of youth. That calling continues to shape his life and work today, as he strives to be the same kind of teacher and mentor who once invested in him.

For the past 20 years, he has faithfully served right here at MPCS as a science teacher and Team Lead in our middle school.  During his tenure, Adam has also led and chaperoned many student trips to Washington DC. Throughout his time at MPCS, he has poured into students not only academically, but spiritually as well, encouraging them to grow in their faith and to live as examples of Christ in their daily lives.

Outside of school, he and his family attend Vertical Life Church in Dallas, Georgia. There, he serves in children’s ministry, leads a small group alongside his wife, and faithfully supports the special needs ministry. He has also led middle school mission trips for several years and recently helped lead a combined middle and high school mission trip to Savannah, where he and his team served through Vacation Bible School, worship, evangelism, and outreach.

In addition to being a favorite teacher among students, he is also loved for his quirky sense of humor and frugal ingenuity. At one point, Adam had a very extensive collection of air from locations around the world, brought to him over the years by students from their travels. Periodically, he has creatively entertained the students and staff with the introduction of his very unique “twin” brother, Bob. He also converted his car to run off of discarded fryer oil from the dining hall rather than gasoline. For years, Adam was “King” of the grill at Friday night football games. Recently, Adam has completed official Santa Claus training and works during the holiday season as Santa. Truly, Adam leads with a servant heart and with FUN wherever he is!

Adam is married to Megan and they have 8 children Addison, James, Isabelle, Phillip, Daniel, Emma, Willie, and Christopher.

His favorite verse is 1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

He had this to say about being considered for this award “MPCS has produced so many wonderful examples of servant leaders who honor God, love others, and walk in truth. It is humbling for me to be considered among them for this honor.”

We are honored to present the 2026 Servant-Leader Alumnus of the Year Award to Mr. Adam King.
