As is MPCS tradition, rising seniors are invited to take advantage of the opportunity to decorate their parking spots! Spots must have already been reserved in May. Learn more about the materials needed and plans for the day at the link below.

Senior Sunrise

August 7, 7:00 a.m. - 8:15 a.m., Sewell Stadium

The MPCS tradition of “Senior Sunrise” will take place on August 7 starting with worship at 7:00 a.m. in the Catherine Steele Sewell Stadium. “Senior Sunrise” is a wonderful occasion for seniors to come together for your “Last First Day” of school as a student at Mount Paran Christian School and we trust that this will be a time filled with memories that you will cherish for a lifetime. Students are permitted to wear special dress for this occasion and the guidelines are as follows:

SENIOR GIRLS:

  • All black dresses, pants, jumpsuits, or rompers (must be below mid-thigh in length)
  • Straps must be 1-inch or wider
  • No spaghetti straps, halter tops, one-shoulder, or strapless styles will be permitted
  • No “cut-outs”
  • Shoes must have backs (no slippers)

SENIOR BOYS:

  • Hawaiian shirts (must have sleeves)
  • Khaki shorts or khaki pants

Seniors are permitted to remain in this special attire for the duration of the school day, so please make sure that it is school appropriate attire.

Formal Portraits Deadline

August 8 Deadline *required for all seniors

TCPICS is our official contracted photographer. Seniors are required to contact TCPICS to schedule a sitting for their formal portrait. Register online for an appointment. All formal portraits MUST come from TCPICS. Please have your formal portrait taken no later than August 8, 2025. You will need to select the image(s) you intend to place in the yearbook at the time of your photo session. As a new option, TCPICS offers a casual sitting for the yearbook as well. Please visit the TCPICS website to schedule an appointment.

Rising seniors can begin scheduling summer photo sessions with TCPics. Pictures must be scheduled and taken before August 8. Click below to schedule an appointment.

Casual Portraits:  The yearbook is NOT using casual portraits for seniors this year. However, families may wish to have casual portraits taken for the senior yearbook dedications. A specific photographer is not required.

Soaring Into Senior Year In-Person Meeting

August 11 at 6:00 p.m.

In-Person Parent Meeting 
The high school counseling team invites all senior parents to attend the upcoming in-person meeting, “Soaring into Senior Year," Monday, August, 11, at 6:00 p.m. in the Murray Arts Center, Kristi Lynn Theatre. The high school counselors will address the college planning process for senior year. Don’t miss this information session to help get a jump start on your applications.

 


 

Senior Yearbook Dedication Ads

October Submission Deadline October 10

Senior dedications are full or half pages in the yearbook where families may leave a personal message and/or scripture for graduating seniors, along with 3 to 10 images. These dedications are completed by families directly online through the Herff Jones website, www.yearbookordercenter.com, beginning June 1, 2025.

Enter 2365 for the Mount Paran Christian School code, and then click on Buy a Yearbook Ad to get started. Please have your senior’s yearbook dedication completed and submitted directly to Herff Jones by October 10, 2025. **Due to production deadlines, we cannot accept any ads after October 10.**

Pink Ribbon Luncheon

October 10 (Senior girls and moms)

Save the date for this special event for our senior girls and moms (or female special guest). The event is held at MPCS. More details to come.

Senior Trip Meeting

March 19, 11:00 - 11:30 a.m. meeting

Parents will get an email with details in October about the trip including trip pricing, payment plan information, and a survey to see who is planning to go on the trip. Seniors (no parents) are expected to attend  the meeting on Monday March 19 at 11:00 a.m. All seniors attending the Disney trip on May 17-21, and their parents, should plan to attend this meeting.

Eagle Backers Scholarship

Applications are due by Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

MPCS senior student-athletes are invited to apply for the Eagle Backer scholarship. Our athletic booster club is pleased to offer this scholarship to any MPCS senior who has played a varsity sport. Eagle Backers will award two $2,000 scholarships to student athletes who truly represent the MPC way through their character and walk with Christ. 

To be considered, please complete the form below and also submit a recommendation letter from a personal reference. Indicate the name of your sponsor below, and have your one page recommendation letter emailed to eaglebackers@mtparanschool.com. The scholarship will be funded through a portion of the proceeds from the annual MPC Eagle Backers Golf Tournament. Senior Chapel

April 28 at 10:50 a.m. *attendance required

Murray Arts Center, Kristi Lynn Theatre, seniors and parents only 

The senior class will celebrate with a final chapel ceremony together with their parents and the MPCS chapel band.

 


 

College Choice Submission Deadline

April 19, 2026 *required

All seniors must report their final college choice to Mrs. Kyle or your college counselor. This information will be printed in the graduation program and on senior yard signs. Counselors will be in Bible classes that week to walk students through the process of final college choice submission. This college will then automatically receive the official final transcript. Please also let us know of any scholarship offers awarded for each college acceptance and/or outside scholarships. Students who already know their final college decision may forward their choice to Mrs. Kyle any time before the deadline.

Senior College Day

May 1, 2026

This year’s senior class is invited to participate in Senior College Day, sponsored by the MPCS Alumni Association. 

  • Senior class, wear your college spirit wear with uniform bottoms.
  • REMEMBER to BRING YOUR CAP-AND-GOWNS for the group photo and tossing of hats video.
  • Enjoy a seniors-only brunch party in the Catherine Steele Sewell Stadium. (All-American breakfast and waffle bar from the Waffle House food truck.)
  • Pick up your graduation cap-and-gown.
  • Participate in fun photo-ops such as the group college shirt composite photo as well as the group cap-and-gown photo and throwing of caps tradition.
  • Sign the 2026 class banner.
  • Receive your yearbook.
  • Continue the class year challenge tradition. (Students are challenged to begin their alumni giving in honor of their graduating class - $20.26.)
  • Be initiated into the MPCS Alumni Association.
  • This is a required, student-only event and is NOT a half-day for students.

Senior College Day is sponsored by the MPCS Alumni Association to welcome seniors as MPCS alumni. Congratulations, seniors!

AP Exams

May 4-15, 2026

AP exams begin on May 4 and run through May 15. They will be taken in person with MPCS proctors. AP teachers will inform students of the testing dates for specific subjects, and information on locations and times will be announced in class. Students taking AP exams do not report to other classes those days.

Senior Exams

May 11-14, 2026

Senior exam schedules will be communicated in the high school newsletter and through teachers. Requirements for attendance after exams is at the discretion of each classroom teacher. Remember, class attendance counts toward exemptions from non-AP finals!

Senior Parade

May 15, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. on campus. Parents, plan to attend.

  • The on-campus lineup will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Murray Arts Center parking lot.
  • The parade will begin at 12:00 p.m.
  • Cars will proceed past the Mulkey Building and turn right onto the high school circle between the Dozier and Mulkey buildings, where students will pick up their bags. Cars will then turn right from the high school circle, drive between the stadium and the Murray Innovation Center to the gravel lot entrance, and turn right onto Stilesboro Road. 
  • If you need to remove the decorations from your car, you may either pull into a PARKING SPACE in the stadium lot or turn back into the MAC parking lot off of Stilesboro Road and disassemble there. Please do not block the road as cars are continuing to work their way through campus. 
  • Please have a sign on the car with the senior’s name visible. You may also decorate your vehicle with the student’s college colors/mascot, workplace information, etc. 
  • Please do not throw candy or any other items from the vehicles. 
  • Students may be visible through a sunroof or truck bed while on campus, but the police department states they must be inside the vehicle when the car turns onto Stilesboro Road.
  • Any family member not in the car may sit along the on-campus parade route. Please have them park in the stadium lot between the stadium and MIC or in the MAC parking lot.
  • After the parade, feel free to take home your graduate’s college yard sign!
     

 

Graduation Rehearsal

May 15, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. *Attendance required
Turner Chapel AME Church, 492 North Marietta Pkwy NE, Marietta, GA 30060

Students only need to report to Turner Chapel AME no later than 2:00 p.m., immediately following the parade. There is to be no food, gum, or drinks brought into the church.
Students should plan to eat lunch BEFORE the parade or rehearsal. NO HATS inside the church, please.

Commencement

May 16, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. *attendance required
Turner Chapel AME Church, 492 North Marietta Pkwy NE, Marietta, GA 30060

Each family will be issued 15 tickets (not including the graduate). If you are in need of additional tickets, please contact Mrs. Kyle to make note of it. Tickets will be distributed after spring break. 

Students arrive at Turner Chapel by 8:15 a.m. and report to the Fellowship Hall. They will enter through the bottom exterior door.  (They will know where this is based on graduation practice.)

  • Tickets are required for admission.
  • Please make sure your guests have their tickets in hand.
  • Seating is first come/first served, except for the Valedictorian's and Salutatorian's families and the PTF Auction winners.
  • We ask that you line up and patiently wait for the Turner Chapel staff to allow entrance to the sanctuary. 
  • We STRONGLY encourage you to carpool and ask that graduates ride with their families, as parking is limited.
  • We will have overflow parking at Marietta Power, and we will have a shuttle bus running to the church. 
  • The ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Late entry is not permitted.
  • Parents, please collect your graduate's phone at this time, as we do not want students on their phones during the ceremony.
  • Graduates should arrive in their cap and gown.
  • Remember, dark dress pants, dress shoes, a dress shirt and tie are to be worn by the gentlemen graduates, and a nice dress and shoes for the ladies. (There are stairs involved in the ceremony, so make shoe selections wisely).
  • No chewing gum, please.
  • No food, drinks, water, noisemakers, balloons, or flowers are allowed in the sanctuary.
  • The Prayer of Dedication portion takes place towards the end of the ceremony.
  • Graduates and parents will receive instructions during the ceremony.
  • Parents, when you see your student proceed to a prayer station, please join them.  
  • This is for immediate family only, not extended family or other guests.
  • We ask that you quietly return to your seat and wait respectfully until all students have completed their prayer time.
  • Students will process out of the sanctuary at the close of the ceremony, so please wait until final dismissal.
  • Students are NOT permitted to throw caps; we will make sure they have the opportunity to do this for a photo op on Senior College Day.
  • All SGA students will need to return their stoles to Mrs. Kyle following the ceremony; the graduate will keep all other regalia and honor cords.

Senior Trip to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios

May 17-21

Seniors who have signed up and paid for this trip will attend in celebration of graduation. Students in attendance will continue their commitment pledge to uphold MPCS conduct standards and established trip rules. The bus departs at 5:30 a.m. on May 17 and arrives back to campus approximately 4:30 p.m. on May 21. Please refer to the permission docusign for the full itinerary.
