Senior Spotlight — Emory Abernathy '26

Emory Abernathy ’26 has modeled excellence on and off the MPCS fields. As a MPCS Varsity Cheerleader, she was a part of three State Championship wins which also is her favorite memory from her season at MPCS. As a MPCS Lacrosse team member for four years and Captain her senior year, she contributed to four Area Championship wins. She was selected to the All-Area team her sophomore, junior and senior year as well as a part of All-State second team her senior year. She was also selected as the lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year.

A member of Noonday Church and active participant in the MPCS service community, Emory has been involved in multiple service projects including work with Mission 1:27 at Walton Ridge Apartments. She served as both an officer and team member for goLead. She earned AP Scholar, Honor Roll, and Georgia Certificate of Merit, demonstrating academic excellence throughout her school career.

One MPCS staff member who has been monumental to her journey is Mrs. Sham Palomaki. Emory shares, “She led the girls Bible study for my grade and has very insightful wisdom to God words. She is always investing in our spiritual growth. She always meets everyone with compassion and genuine care.”

Emory will join the Georgia Tech cheerleading team in fall of 2026 where she will pursue a degree in biology on a pre-dental track. She hopes to one day become an orthodontist.
