Mark your calendars for the 101 sessions, teacher Meet-and-Greet, and Parent Orientation Night dates for your grade levels.

The first day of school for grades Pre-K4 - grade 12 is Tuesday, August 11 at 7:50 a.m. No 7:00 a.m. early care on the first day only. Parents are welcome to walk their child in to preschool and lower school classes on the first day. *The first day for Pre-K3 is Wednesday, August 12 (no early care this day for Pre-K3). The first Late-Start Wednesday is August 19 with school beginning at 8:35 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Meet the Chef and Nurses

August 7 — 4:00 - 5:00 p.m., Mulkey Hall, Dining Hall

Optionally, any families with students that have health or food allergy concerns are invited to meet with the nursing staff and Chef Moe by the dining area of Mulkey Hall.


PRESCHOOL

Preschool and TK 101

May 11 – 8:00-9:00 a.m. OR 6:00-7:00 p.m.  Murray Arts Center
(ALL NEW Preschool Parents / Pre-K3, Pre-K4, and TK)

All parents of new preschool students are required to attend one of the offered Preschool 101 sessions. Parents will meet inside the Kristi Lynn Theater in the Murray Arts Center to hear from Ms. Penny Harrison, Head of Preschool. Parents will hear how to prepare their children for the transition to preschool in August, including everything from how MPCS partners with families in the Spiritual development of their children to what bookbag to buy, and everything in between. We look forward to seeing all our new Preschool parents for Preschool 101!

Popsicles and Play Date

July 14 — 6:00-7:00 p.m., Sewell Cottage
(All NEW preschool families)

New families and children are invited to join us to meet MPCS staff and other new families and friends! Preschool will meet at the Sewell Cottage.

Meet-and-Greet

August 7 – 4:00-6:00 p.m. Drop-In, Sewell Cottage
(ALL rising Preschool and TK parents and students)

All new and current students in grades Pre-K3, Pre-K4, and TK are invited to drop-in anytime between 4:00-6:00 p.m. to meet their teachers, visit classrooms, and receive information to begin the first day of school. We can't wait to see you in the preschool cottage!

First Day of School for Pre-K4 and TK students

Tuesday, August 11 – 7:50 a.m.
Parents are asked to walk children in on the first day of school, beginning at 7:15 a.m. School starts at 7:50 a.m. There will be no early care on first day of school for Pre-K4/TK students. 

First Day of School for Pre-K3 students

Wednesday, August 12 — 8:45 a.m.
Parents are asked to walk children in beginning at 8:15 a.m. The first day of school for Pre-K3 starts at 8:45 a.m. There will be no early care on August 12 for Pre-K3 students. 

Preschool/TK Parent Orientation

August 17 – Sewell Cottage (Parents only)
Pre-K3 and TK - 6:15-7:30 p.m. / Pre-K4 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Parents will receive detailed information about the classroom environment, curriculum, and important dates. *PLEASE NOTE that The Zone After School Care Program for Pre-K/TK children will end at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17. This change is in preparation for our Pre-K/TK Parent Orientation.   


LOWER SCHOOL

Lower School New Parent Virtual Meeting with Mrs. Baker

Popsicles and Play Date

July 14 — 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., Mulkey Hall Outdoor Patio
(All NEW lower school families)

New lower school families are invited to join us for this event to meet MPCS staff and other new families and friends! Meet us inside the Mulkey building, downstairs by the gyms outside on the patio.

K-Day

August 5 – 9:00-11:00 a.m., Murray Arts Center
(ALL rising Kindergarten students and their parents)

All Kindergarten students and parents (current and new) are expected to join us for K-Day. This also serves as our Kindergarten Parent Orientation session for parents to learn about lower school, the exciting world of Kindergarten, and upcoming Kindergarten events! Parents will sign in their Kindergarteners at the Black Box Theater in the Murray Arts Center and then proceed to the Kristi Lynn Theatre to hear from Mrs. Baker and our Kindergarten teachers. The kindergarten students will have the opportunity to see all of the Kindergarten classrooms and meet with each Kindergarten teacher along with the Exploratory teachers. We look forward to seeing you on this exciting day!

(ALL families grades K-5)

All new and current students in grades Kindergarten - grade 5 are invited to drop-in anytime between 4:00-6:00 p.m. to meet their teachers, visit classrooms, and receive information to begin the first day of school. This event is for all preschool and lower school families only.

Lower School Parent Orientation

August 18 – 6:00-7:30 p.m., Murray Arts Center, Kristi Lynn Theatre
(All parents of students in grades 1-5, parents only)

All parents of students in grades 1-5 are expected to join us for Lower School Parent Orientation. This evening will provide a clear understanding of our partnership with parents, teachers, and lower school administration. Parents will learn about lower school, hear from grade-level teachers, and upcoming events! We will begin in the Kristi Lynn Theatre to hear from Mrs. Baker and then parents will proceed to designated areas to meet with grade level teachers. We look forward to you joining us for this informative event!


MIDDLE SCHOOL

New to Middle School Parent Meeting

May 5 – 7:45-9:00 a.m., Murray Arts Center, Black Box Theater
(All NEW middle school parents and ALL current rising sixth-grade parents, parents only)

All parents of rising grade 6 students and NEW parents of students in grades 7-8 should plan to attend the Middle School New Parent Meeting. Parents will hear about foundational elements of the middle school, from shepherding students to academic vision to partnership keys. In addition, parents will learn about the daily life of the middle school, including spiritual development, fun, and logistics.

Middle School 101

August 7 – 9:00 a.m., Mulkey Hall, Hughes Gym
(All NEW middle school students and ALL rising sixth-graders, students only)

All students in grade 6 and NEW students in grades 7-8 should plan to attend the Middle School 101. Students will form bonds with classmates, meet teachers, see classrooms, and prepare for the first day of school.

Sixth grade students: Drop-off and pickup will be at the Dining Hall. Enter at the main gate and turn left to travel to the dining hall entrance. Please bring your new carpool cards for expedited pickup. Sixth-graders will be released at 3:00 p.m. . Students should wear school appropriate, non-uniform clothing. We will be playing games both inside and outside, so wear athletic shoes and dress appropriately for games. Snacks, pizza lunch (with gluten-free options) and salad bar will be served. If desired, students may bring lunch/snack. 

Seventh and Eighth grade NEW students: Drop-off and pickup will be at Shelton circle (side entrance of Mulkey Hall by statue) following the orange carpool route which enters via Stilesboro Road. Please bring your new carpool cards for expedited pickup. New students in grades 7-8 will be released at 11:00 a.m. Students should wear school appropriate, non-uniform clothing.

Middle School Parent Orientation

August 17 – 6:00-7:30 p.m., Murray Arts Center, Kristi Lynn Theatre
(All middle school parents only)

Middle School Parent Orientation will begin in the Kristi Lynn Theatre of the Murray Arts Center with a word from Mr. Hill. Grade levels will split to give you the opportunity for you to meet the teachers and learn about the middle school experience.


HIGH SCHOOL

High School NEW Parent Coffee Hour

August 7 – 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., Murray Arts Center, Grand Lobby
(All NEW high school parents)

All new high school parents are invited to a coffee meet-and-greet preceding High School 101. Students are welcome to join parents in this coffee hour. Stop in to enjoy coffee and treats provided by SAGE dining while mingling with new families and MPCS staff.

High School 101

August 7 – 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Murray Arts Center, Kristi Lynn Theatre
(All NEW high school students, ALL rising freshmen, and their parents)

All new students, freshmen and one parent should plan to attend High School 101. Students will be dismissed shortly after beginning High School 101 for orientation in the high school. Freshmen will complete orientation at 3:00 p.m. and grades 10-12 will complete orientation at 11:00am.

High School PMI for Freshmen (101 continued)

August 7 – 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Dozier Hall and Murray Innovation Center
(All rising freshmen will stay after the 101 meeting)

Once dismissed from the 101 event at the MAC, all grade 9 students will move to Dozier Hall and the Murray Innovation Center for LUNCH, further training, 1:1 device distribution, and PMI (Peer Mentoring Initiative) activities until 3:00 p.m. Pickup in the yellow carpool route in front of the stadium/MIC after the event.

High School PMI Up for NEW Students Grades 10-12

August 7 – 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Murray Innovation Center, Room 4204
(All New MPCS students in grades 10-12 only)

NEW students to MPCS in rising grades 10-12 should plan to attend PMI Up. You will learn about MPCS high school and meet your Peer Mentoring Initiative (PMI) leaders, who will help guide you. You will receive your Connected Learning Program 1:1 device with training during the event. Pickup in the yellow carpool route in front of the stadium/MIC after the event.

High School Parent Orientation

August 20 – 6:00-7:30 p.m., Murray Arts Center, Kristi Lynn Theatre
(All high school parents are strongly encouraged to attend)

We will begin with a quick presentation by Mr. Beard in the Murray Arts Center, Kristi Lynn Theatre, then move to classrooms to meet with your child's classroom teachers. Please make sure you take note of your child's block schedule and building/classroom numbers.


NOTE: The Eagles Nest Summer Uniform Shop will offer extended hours until 6:00pm on August 7 for convenient uniform shopping.
