MPCS Mock Trial Advances to Final Four in State Mock Trial Championship

Mount Paran Christian School’s Mock Trial team, the Legal Eagles, delivered an outstanding performance at the Georgia Mock Trial State Championship in Lawrenceville. The season began with more than 180 teams representing 135 schools across Georgia, with only the top 18 teams advancing to the state-level competition.

The MPCS Legal Eagles program (comprised of 26 students and 6 coaches) sent a talented team to compete for the state title. Securing a place in the Final Four after a strong showing throughout the weekend, MPCS entered Sunday’s semifinal round as the number one seed. Although the team ultimately fell in a close round to longtime friends and rivals Northview High School, they remain proud of their performance and wish Northview the best as they advance to the National Championship.

Several MPCS students earned individual honors during the state competition. Outstanding Witness awards were presented to S. Tonye and M. Crawford, while Outstanding Attorney awards were earned by I. White and S. Harris, the latter receiving the honor for two rounds of the tournament. Additionally, senior L. Ewell was formally recognized for her participation in Law Academy, where she was admitted to the Student Bar of Georgia with honors for scoring above 90% on the Student Bar Exam. Congratulations to all.

Beyond the competition itself, the team demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, godliness, and excellence, reflecting the mission and values of Mount Paran Christian School. Reminiscing on the season, a team captain, L. Diggle, shared the heart behind the program’s efforts: “It was never about a title. It was about a legacy, and more importantly, it was for the glory of God.”

Mount Paran Christian School celebrates the dedication, character, and achievement of the coaches and participants who have made the Legal Eagles a top-tier program in the most rigorous Mock Trial state in the nation. We look forward to all that God has in store for these elite academic competitors.
