MPCS is Named AP Gold Honor Roll School Again

MPCS was named to the 2024 AP School Gold Honor Roll, which recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results and broadening access for students. Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on their ability to increase their school’s college-going culture, to provide opportunities for students to earn college credit, and by maximizing college readiness.

The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Mount Paran Christian School had 181 students who took a total of 398 AP exams, with 91% scoring a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam earning Gold in the three criteria. MPCS also reached platinum level in 2 of 3 requirements from the College Board with our high school far exceeding the college credit and optimization scores required.

Additionally, MPCS was given the AP Access Award for providing all students the opportunity to participate in AP, including students of underrepresented populations.

Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. The students who enter four-year colleges with AP credits accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success. And, even for those who don’t earn college credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture.
