MPCS Legal Eagles Competes at Yale Mock Trial

The MPCS Legal Eagles attended the Yale Bulldog Mock Trial Invitational in New Haven, Connecticut. Mount Paran, power matched against some of the most elite schools in the country, performed well, securing three of the top individual awards for the entire competition of 29 schools. 

Of more than 250 student competitors in the tournament, only four attorneys received perfect ballots; two of them are MPCS students. Congratulations to sophomore Sam Harris, who earned a perfect 20 ranks on the Defense. Senior Mary Reese Harvey, for the second year in a row, was the only competitor in the tournament to receive attorney awards on both sides of the case: Prosecution (18 ranks) and Defense (20 ranks). Finally, with an impressive 19 ranks, sophomore Solana Tonye received an Outstanding Witness Award, a fantastic accomplishment. 

Aside from the competition, the team also enjoyed an official Yale University campus tour, a trip to the school store, a walk on the eastern shore, and lots of good eats and fresh seafood. After this pre-season adventure, the team will begin recruiting for the regular season of Georgia Mock Trial.
