Each year the Kiwanis Club of Lost Mountain sponsors the John Giles Silver Pen Writing Contests. Participants are students in grade four in Cobb County. Each student is provided a teacher “Story Starter” to complete using their imagination and creativity. A panel of judges from the Kiwanis Club evaluates and selects the winning story from each school. Judging is based on creativity, originality, story flow, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and neatness. This year MPCS had 12 finalists chosen, and the overall MPCS winner was H. Henderson.
On March 28, each school winner will read their winning story at the Awards Ceremony held at the West Cobb Senior Center. Congratulations writers!
