Announcing New Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach

Mount Paran Christian School is pleased to announce the hiring of Geof Weisenborn as Head Boys Lacrosse Coach and Director of Athletic Innovation for the 2026-2027 school year. Coach Weisenborn brings a strong record of competitive success, a passion for developing student-athletes, and a commitment to Christ-centered leadership that aligns with the mission of MPCS.

Weisenborn will begin at MPC after 13 seasons as Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Wheaton Academy (IL), where he built one of the premier programs in the state. He compiled a 145–56 record (.720), highlighted by the program’s first-ever State Championship in 2023. He was named IHSA Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2022, and his teams consistently competed at the highest level, reaching the Final 4 in four of the past five seasons. During his tenure, Wheaton developed five All-Americans, 13 All-State players, and more than 90 collegiate athletes, including 21 who advanced to the Division I level.

Prior to Wheaton Academy, Weisenborn served as Head Coach at Messiah College (PA) for eight seasons. His teams advanced to the conference tournament six times and finished as runner-up on four occasions, while he earned MAC Coach of the Year honors in 2007. His leadership contributed to the development of multiple All-Americans and conference award winners.

A former Division I student-athlete, Weisenborn was a four-year starter at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he played under Hall of Fame coach Don Zimmerman. His coaching experience also includes roles at Michigan State University (USLIA club), Messiah College as an assistant coach, and Francis Scott Key High School in Maryland, where he led the program to two regional finals and was named a U.S. Lacrosse Regional Coach of the Year.

In his role at MPCS, Weisenborn will lead the boys lacrosse program. He will also serve as Director of Athletic Innovation, helping to strengthen and align the school’s approach to maximizing the investment of programs and technology tools while keeping a pulse on industry trends to help advance the impact of athletic performance. His leadership will impact key areas such as strength and conditioning, performance training, nutrition and hydration, mental performance, and the integration of athletic technology. He will also contribute to the growth of student-athletes across all levels through K–12 development, academic support, parent education, summer programming, and collaboration with athletic strength training.

Athletic Director Mike Walker shared, "Coach Weisenborn is a proven program-builder who understands how to pursue excellence while leading from a Christ-centered perspective." He expressed confidence that Weisenborn will build on the strong foundation already in place and create something special for MPC lacrosse families, while also helping maximize the school’s investment in strength and conditioning, athletic technology, and overall athlete development.

Mount Paran Christian School looks forward to the impact Coach Weisenborn will have across the athletic department as he invests in the lives of student-athletes — developing competitors who strive for excellence, grow in their faith, and use their God-given gifts to honor Christ.
