What are Extracurricular Activities at MPCS?

Mount Paran Christian School is proud to offer a wide variety of activities for students to get involved  before and after the regular school day. Our extended-day programs include Early Care, Eagle Adventure Zone (EAZ) After-School Care, The Zone for middle schoolers, Conference Camps and Holiday Workshops, as well as Summer Programs.

Club opportunities, music and dance lessons, arts groups, and sports teams are great options as well. Be sure to visit the arts and athletics web pages for that information. Extracurricular club links for each school division are listed below on the right.

Complimentary Early Care

Early care supervision is offered for PK-fifth grades. Students may be dropped off at 7:00 a.m. in the Sewell Cottage. Please walk your preschool child in. Lower school students may be dropped at the Mulkey Building main office entrance.

This service will be provided on all regular school days for no additional fee, but will not include breakfast.

EAZ After-School Care

EAZ after-school care offers a fun place to play, complete homework, and participate in educational activities. Registration for EAZ is completed during enrollment. The drop-in rate is $25 (with a 24-hour notice) a day until 6:00 p.m. ($50 if 24-hour notice is not given). EAZ also offers an hourly rate of $10 until 4:00 p.m., which includes a snack.

If your child is enrolled in after-school activities such as ballet, chess, etc. on campus, staff members will get him/her to the activity. For details or to reserve a spot for your child, contact Donna McCoy. An online payment system will be required to reserve a spot in EAZ for drop-in students.

The Zone Middle School After-School Program

The Zone is a structured student-centered option for parents who need the convenience of a later pickup time for their middle school students. The Zone will replace the previously offered Middle School Study Hall with many new features designed to enrich and improve the after-school experience for our middle-schoolers. Activities will include:

  • TheZoneRedLogo.jpgoutside recess or planned physical activity
  • snack provided
  • homework hour
  • collaborative games and board games
  • technology-learning focus
  • occasional add-on excursions on extended days

The Zone will begin in the Weber Collaboratory and run until 6:00 p.m. on school days. At 5:30 p.m., students will move to the Sewell Cottage for easier pickup. The cost will be $500 for the entire 2019-2020 school year or prorated per semester. This will be billed via FACTS/Student Accounts.

Parents may also opt in at $5 per day with easy online pre-registration. The fee will provide two staff supervisors, snacks, and enhanced activities for the year with no profit to the school. Students not attending The Zone or an activity directly after school must be picked up in carpool after normal dismissal.
