What are Extracurricular Activities at MPCS?

Mount Paran Christian School is proud to offer a wide variety of activities for students to get involved before and after the regular school day. Our extended-day programs include Early Care, Eagle Adventure Zone (EAZ) after-school care, The Zone for middle schoolers, and Summer Programs.

Club opportunities, music and dance lessons, arts groups, and sports teams are great options as well. Be sure to visit the arts and athletics web pages for that information. Extracurricular club links for each school division are listed below on the right.

Complimentary Early Care

Early care supervision is offered for PK-fifth grades. Students may be dropped off at 7:00 a.m. in the Sewell Cottage. Please walk your preschool child in. Lower school students may be dropped at the Mulkey Building main office entrance.

This service will be provided on all regular school days for no additional fee but will not include breakfast.

EAZ Extended-day Program

Eagle Adventure Zone extended-day program offers a fun place to play, complete homework, and participate in educational activities. Registration for EAZ is completed during enrollment. The drop-in rate is $25 (with 24-hour notice) a day until 6:00 p.m. ($50 if 24-hour notice is not given).

If your child is enrolled in after-school activities such as ballet, chess, etc. on campus, staff members will get him/her to the activity. For details or to reserve a spot for your child, contact the auxiliary director. An online payment system will be required to reserve a spot in EAZ for drop-in students.

This year, lower school students will stay in the Mulkey Building. Preschoolers will stay in the Sewell Cottage as usual.

EAZ Tutoring Sessions

With the Eagle Adventure Zone tutoring program, parents may register their child(ren) for 30-minute weekly individual tutoring sessions with Miss Jessica Davis, one of our outstanding EAZ instructors who is currently pursuing her degree in Education. Individual tutoring plans will be created, using an array of resources and materials. Miss Davis will keep in touch with parents and teachers with regular progress updates.

Parents should contact the Auxiliary Director of After School Care to secure their child(ren)'s tutoring time. Please have in mind a day and time your child can attend consistently every week. Changing days and times weekly will not be possible. We will do our best to accommodate make-up sessions if your child is out sick, must quarantine, or if faced with a family emergency.

The number of time slots available is limited; thus, we kindly ask parents register their child(ren) for only one weekly session. This allows other families to take advantage of the program. In the event there are additional slots available after the first month, parents will be notified.

Once the tutoring session time has been confirmed with the Auxiliary Director, parents should pay for EAZ tutoring sessions. Each tutoring session is $20.  Parents are asked to make advance payments to cover a full month of tutoring sessions, with payment due before the first session.

The Zone Middle School Extended-day Program

The Zone is a structured student-centered option for parents who need the convenience of a later pickup time for their middle school students. Activities will include

  • TheZoneRedLogo.jpgoutside recess or planned physical activity

  • homework hour
  • collaborative games and board games
  • technology-learning focus
  • occasional add-on excursions on extended days

The Zone will begin in the Weber Collaboratory and run until 6:00 p.m. on school days. Pickup will be at the front office entrance. The cost will be $500 for the entire school year or prorated per semester. This will be billed via FACTS/Student Accounts.

Parents may also opt in at $10 per day with easy online pre-registration. The fee will provide two staff supervisors, snacks, and enhanced activities for the year, with no profit to the school. Students not attending The Zone or an activity directly after school must be picked up in carpool after normal dismissal.
