Andrea Reid, our beloved high school anatomy teacher, has been greatly affected by her husband’s long battle with cancer. This team will go to their home to serve them in their time of need.

Bartow Family Resource Center is a non-profit community organization reaching out to women and their families in Bartow County. Their mission is to serve women and their families by fostering a Christ-like view of life, empowering women to make life-affirming decisions to protect the unborn, establish healthy relationships, and create lasting life skills.

Blue Skies is a ministry offering weeklong beach retreats to lift families above the clouds of childhood cancer. Their mission is to bring the hope of Christ to families living through the challenges of pediatric cancer so children who are sick will laugh, play, and feel "normal" again. Through this mission, siblings - who often compete with cancer - will feel cherished and enjoy uninterrupted family fun. Moms and dads will grow strong and begin lifelong friendships with others on Kindred Journeys. The goal is that everyone at Blue Skies will experience the love of the Heavenly Father.

Camp Gideon is a Christian camp and retreat facility located on Lake Allatoona in Acworth. They provide several weekend and week-long camping programs for children.

If possible, gloves, rakes, blowers, and 55-gallon trash bags would be appreciated to help with the project. Also, donations of paper towels and basketballs are also welcome.

The Center for Family Resources (CFR) reduces childhood homelessness by serving and empowering families through prevention, crisis intervention, housing support, education, and compassionate care management.

Janiece Miller, a former long-time MPCS first-grade teacher, has been greatly affected by the needs of her daughter, who has been dealing with the long-term effects of Friedreich’s Ataxia, a degenerative nerve disease. Janiece is also caring for a 10-year-old grandson. This team will go to their home to serve them by doing outside chores, including yard work and clean-up.

The Receiving Hope Center is the state of Georgia’s first residential intake center for trafficked youth. Because of this facility, survivors of domestic minor sex trafficking are able to immediately enter into a safe environment and have all their needs met and assessments completed at one location. While at this residential facility, survivors receive medical care, academic support, and therapeutic and stabilization services for up to 90 days before moving to a long-term placement.  They serve trafficked youth ages 12-17 in this facility.

Each day across Metro Atlanta, the Salvation Army Financial Emergency Services Centers provide emergency and life-sustaining assistance. This includes food, clothing, rent/mortgage assistance, utilities, school supplies, furniture, and more. The Homeless Resource Center reaches out to the community homeless to provide encouragement, showers, laundry facilities, comfort kits, and food bags. In addition, the Marietta Salvation Army also offers a performing arts conservatory, after school programs, and summer day camps.

It is a Recovery Community Organization that mobilizes resources within and outside of the recovery community to make it possible for the recovery population to find long-term recovery.

TASKS: This team will plant flowers for spring beautification. They will also help to organize and clean Rezoned, which is the thrift store benefiting this organization.
