MPC Volleyball Wins State and Coach/Player Honors

MPC Volleyball Wins State and Coach/Player Honors

MPC Volleyball State Champions

Congratulations to our varsity volleyball team for dominating the competition this season. The Lady Eagles finished with an amazing 41-3 record. They won the Cobb County championships against many 7A teams as well as the Area championship during the regular season. After a second-place finish last year against Calvary Day, the girls got a chance for a finals rematch this past weekend. MPC beat Calvary Day in three straight sets to win their first-ever State championship title in GHSA A-private. We are so proud of this talented team!

Congratulations on Coach of the Year and Player of the Year honors!

Senior Sarah Farley & Coach Selina Chancy of MPCS.jpg The Georgia Volleyball Coaches Association recognizes high school players and coaches for excellence in their sport. Nominations are taken from head coaches via MaxPreps and reviewed by the past and present board committee to determine honorees for this selective honor. Senior Sarah-Hayes Farley has been named the All-State Co-Player of the Year and A/AA Private Area Player of the Year! She has committed to play volleyball at Samford University next year. Renee' Dockins, Jordan Hough, and Beth Bowman also received All-Area Team recognition. In her eighth season, Coach Selina Chancy has brought home Area Championships the past four years, a runner-up finish last year, the Cobb County Tournament Championship, and now a GHSA State championship! With this season's record at 40-3, Coach Chancy has been awarded the GVCA A/AA Private Coach of the Year! Congratulations, ladies, on these truly special accomplishments.
