Congratulations to the MPC varsity boys golf team on winning the State championship. The team battled through tough weather conditions at Okefenokee Country Club in Blackshear, Georgia, over two days but ultimately blew away the field, shooting a team total of 2 over par, 290.
Freshman B. McQueen shot 6 under par to take home the Low Medalist title. He was 2 under par when darkness halted play on Monday night and came out yesterday with 5 holes to play. He shot 4 under over his last 5 holes, including an eagle on hole 15, to finish with a round of 66.
Senior J. Butcher fired an even par 72, including a fantastic birdie on his final hole to finish as the individual runner-up. Junior Z. Peterson fired a 2 over par 74 to finish in a tie for third, and junior S. Binkley rounded out the scoring with a 6 over par 78.
