The varsity boys MPC tennis team is the new 2A GHSA State champion! It was a dramatic finish to a record season, winning the State title in tennis for the first time for MPC. The boys also claimed the Region title before heading to the playoffs, ultimately besting Fellowship Christian to claim the trophy.
Senior D. Santana, leading all year at one singles, got the Eagles going with a dominating performance. B. Moultrie and A. Touma, as they have been doing all year, made quick work with powering serves and putting volleys away. Then, at three singles, S. Bolivar settled in to win the second set 6-4 to take the deciding match to a third set. With the crowd behind him, he battled to the end and mentally and physically won the battle in a third set tie breaker. B. Watson and doubles pair L. Harper and J. Ferary were on the courts as well.
Thank you, Eagle fans, for your support, giving these stellar student-athletes great encouragement. We are so proud of these players and their determination on the court to win the MPC Way!
