Preschool and lower school students enjoyed a great week of learning through play during the inaugural "Rock Your School Week – Game On!" Throughout the week, students learned to collaborate on game challenges. It was wonderful to see the students learning new games and getting into the spirit-week themes. Preschool and Kindergarten was converted into "Candyland." The rest of the lower school followed suit by transforming halls into "Apples for Apples," "Twister," "Connect 4," and "Monopoly" favorites.
Fifth-graders launched the week with more than 50 players participating in a basketball tournament. Excitement filled the gym as teams competed in 5-minute games.
The week continued with Read Across America and puppy visits to each classroom.
Students cheered on the staff as they competed in a staff and teacher kickball game.
The week culminated with the Lower School Serve Day. Students filled Easter Baskets and personal hygiene bags that will be given to local families in need. Through generous contributions, more than 400 boxes of cereal will be donated to these families. Students had a great time creating a 75-yard cereal domino train on the track.
After we watched the domino train, we held a sweet moment of dedication, planting three dogwood trees in the garden for Mrs. Rogers father, who passed a few months ago.
Finally, the week ended in worship, with 350-plus lower school students joining together in the stadium to sing together to close out our Serve Day. There is nothing sweeter than to hearing children singing worship songs together. It was a beautiful afternoon and blessing to end our week.
