Executive Council Spotlight: Dr. Deborah Davis

Executive Council Spotlight: Dr. Deborah Davis

The MPCS Executive Council is the key leadership team who helps make the day-to-day decisions in support of fulfilling the MPCS mission. We encourage you to learn more about each member as we feature the various departments weekly.

Title: Head of Lower School

Education: Bachelor of Science degree, Middle Grades Education; Masters degree, School Guidance and Counseling; Specialist degree, Educational Leadership; Doctorate, Educational Leadership

Number of years in my profession: 24

Professional experience: I began my education career in public school as a middle school math and reading teacher. After a few years in the classroom, I received a Master's degree in School Guidance and Counseling. I have been a lower school, middle school, and a high school counselor. For the past seven years, I have been the Head of Lower School at Mount Paran Christian School.

Fun fact: I love being outdoors and enjoying God's creation. I enjoy playing tennis, reading, taking walks, and spending time with my family.

What I'm reading now or favorite book: The lower school staff is reading The Innovator's Mindset together.

Connections to MPCS: We have three children who all graduated from MPCS. Megan Davis '17 is pursuing an audio engineering career. Jessica Davis '19 is working on a middle grades education degree at Kennesaw State University. Andrew Davis '21 attends KSU and is a civil engineering major.

What I love most about MPCS: I love I am able to work and grow as a professional in a Christ-centered environment. The joy of watching our students grow and begin to recognize their God-given talents and abilities is a blessing that is hard to describe.

What I love about my role at the school: I love investing in students, parents, and teachers. We are called to do life together. MPCS offers the opportunity for us to do just that as we educate our MPCS students.

My hope for MPCS: I pray that MPCS will remain committed to our mission of pointing students to Christ - to honor God, love others, and walk in Truth. As we do that, I pray we provide the best quality education by meeting students where they are and helping them grow and develop into the men and women God has created them to be. I pray our students leave us ready and prepared to move into whatever profession they feel led to pursue.
