Professional experience: Arts Administration, Georgia Department of Education; University Music Professor; Secondary School Band Director; Jazz and Orchestral Professional Music Performer
Fun fact: I've performed on stage with Tony Bennett, Dr. John, the Atlanta Symphony, Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, and other famous musicians and groups. I love astronomy. I also have interests in technology, coding, and developing databases, having worked for a software engineering company during a portion of my career.
What I'm reading now or favorite book: I recently read No Contest - The case against competition and why we lose in our race to win by Alfie Kohn.
Connections to MPCS: Both of my children are MPCS alumni. Matthew graduated in 2015 and matriculated to Duke University; Ansley graduated in 2018 and matriculated to the University of Georgia.
What I love most about MPCS: The mission of the school is transcendent and unmatched by any other educational institution.
What I love about my role at the school: I love that I can help MPCS arts students identify and hone their God-given gift to abstractly communicate beauty, truth, and love to the world around them.
My hope for MPCS: I hope that the mission of the school will remain unchanged for generations to come and that it continually guides and trains students to honor God, love others, and walk in Truth.
