Eagle Robotics Team 7373 Carbon Fiber competed in the FIRST Tech Challenge Georgia State Championship last Saturday. Under the driving prowess of A. Hanson and G. Terry and the coaching of S. Baker, the Eagles had solid match performances all day long. The Eagles finished the day ranked number 6 in the state and brought home both the Innovate Award and a third place Inspire Award, the highest award of the championship.
The Innovate Award celebrates a team that thinks “outside the box” and has the ingenuity, creativity, and inventiveness to make their designs come to life. This judged award is given to the team that has the most innovative and creative robot design solution to any specific components in the FIRST Tech Challenge game. Elements of this award include elegant design, robustness, and clever thinking related to design, and engineering documentation.
With a third place finish in the Inspire Award, the Eagles have now completed four consecutive years of podium presence in this award, with two third place finishes and two first place finishes. We are so very proud of C. Bethel, S. Haygood, and our seniors, S. Baker, J. Empie, A. Hanson, T. Idowu, and G. Terry for their leadership and accomplishments with Team 7373 Carbon Fiber.
