Chapel at MPCS is an important part of the student experience, allowing the opportunity to worship together and be encouraged from God’s Word. In this week's chapel, we were joined by Josh Youssef, founder of Help the Persecuted ministry, who shared a message with our students about the worldwide church and the persecution often faced by Christians worldwide. Josh, along with two of his missionaries on the ground, shared grade-level appropriate facts and stories about what God is doing specifically in the Middle East. The time together was powerful and reminded each of us of the blessing we have here to freely attend church and worship God.
As part of chapel, students also received a small wooden cross engraved with the words Rescue, Restore, and Rebuild. The crosses, made by Christian Syrian refugees in Jordan, were given to each student as a reminder to pray for Christians worldwide, as difficult persecution is their daily reality. Families are encouraged to pray together regularly as we strive to shape a Christ-centered worldview in our students.
