Donning hard hats and safety classes, students in the high school Foundations of Engineering and Principles of Engineering classes were taken on a private tour of the new Murray Innovation Center construction project last Friday. Both classes feature units on civil engineering and architecture and, thus, examined the structural steel of the building, the way that it carries the load/weight of the building, and the way the joints of beams are handled. The structural engineers who designed the facility led the tour. What a fantastic opportunity to see learning in action right here on campus!
