During the home opener MPC football game, Remi Adams '22, Christian Hewling '22, G. Lott '23, Micah Lott '22, and Jaylen Thomas '22 received their track State championship rings.
The 2022 track season was a culmination of focus and grit. After taking first in both regionals and sectionals, the team faced adversity in the State meet as Remi Adams was saddled with a hamstring injury and was unable to compete in the preliminary round. The remaining three seniors, along with alternate G. Lott, stepped up to the moment, showing great composure and qualifying for finals. After a night of physical therapy for Remi, the all-senior relay team lined up, uncertain of what the final race of their high school career would bring. As the gun sounded, the team ran a perfect race, with Remi Adams chasing down and out-leaning at the line to take first place.
With a new school record, this relay team brought Mount Paran Christian School their first boys 4x100 State championship, edging out the previous year’s State champions by one one-hundredth of a second. Congratulations, again, to these student-athletes on a magical season!
