Black History Bowl Competition 2023

Our MPCS middle school Black History Bowl team has won back-to-back Championship trophies! After besting 27 other teams, with competitions beginning in January, E. George, S. Harris, C. Broggi, J. Lim, and A. Michael brought home the gold. This win marks the third Championship for MPCS.

To win the Black History Bowl is no small feat, as "bowlers" must memorize more than 900 facts about significant moments in Black History and remarkable African Americans. We are so proud of these students and their commitment to excellence. Thank you to Ashley Lovato and Hasani George for shepherding the team throughout the training process and competition season.

Thank you to the teachers, students, and administrators who came to cheer on the team this past Saturday. It's so special to be part of a community that celebrates and recognizes the contributions of all people and celebrates our commitment to excellence.

Black History Bowl Competition 2023

The MPCS Black History Bowl has been performing well, earning an unprecedented 425 points at this past weekend's Sweet 16 tournament. The undefeated team was just shy of 435 points, the maximum allowed in the game. This is the most amount of points earned by any team since the inception of the Bowl five years ago!

Congratulations to C. Broggi, E. George, S. Harris, J. Lim,  and A. Michael. And, thank you to the many parents and friends who cheered on our players through the final match. The team advances to the final championship on February 11 with the first seed at the Ben Robertson Recreation Center. Come watch history happen!
