MPCS hosted the finals for the Black History Bowl in the Murray Arts Center to benefit the Kennesaw Teen Center. Previously, the semi-final round consisted of 18 teams in 4 different locations in January, narrowing down the competition to 10 teams who competed this past Saturday. Our own middle school team studied more than 650 facts while maintaining their current school work and extra-curricular activities. Their hard work paid off as they brought home the Championship title! Please congratulate the following students for representing our school so well and celebrating the rich legacies and achievements of African Americans that have shaped our culture: S. Catron, L. Meier, R. Brown, B. Barr, and M.R. Harvey. Special thanks to Coach Ashley Lovato, the CommUNITY Task Force, Eagle Ambassadors, and all that made this weekend a success. As Nelson Mandela has said: “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world!”
