This year, MPCS earned the #1 "Best Teacher" honor as our community rallied around Mr. Billy Food. Mr. Flood is the MPCS middle and high school Band Director and is beloved by students and staff alike. He earned his Bachelor of Music from Berry College and his Master of Music Education from the University of Georgia. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education, also through UGA.
With 20 years in his profession, he began his music and teaching career at Mount Paran Christian school. He eagerly teaches all instruments in band to his various classes starting in the fifth grade. Mr. Flood also has led the Soaring Eagle Marching Band who over the years has won countless marching band performance awards. During his tenure, Mr. Flood has earned past "Teacher of the Month" awards and tallied the fourth most votes in the entire 2022 "Best of Cobb" contest sponsored by Cobb Life Magazine and the Marietta Daily Journal.

Mrs. Kelly Moss (first grade) and Mrs. Lyn Bennett (preschool) were voted best teachers in Cobb in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
