Band Members and Alumni Make Music to Defeat ALS

Band Members and Alumni Make Music to Defeat ALS

For the past several years, current members of the MPCS band and band alumni have gathered to support the “Walk to Defeat ALS” through Pam Grayboff's fundraising team, "Pam's Parade." The walk is an Atlanta community event, attended by many people who work together to raise funds for research to defeat ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

MPCS band students led the parade for the walk, playing pep band music and lending an energetic vibe to the event., which was hosted at the Georgia State University football stadium.

Of the event and the MPCS band, Pam Grayboff shared,

"What a delight it was to see the Mount Paran Christian School band again. It was like being with old friends after last year’s isolation from everyone. Despite the fact that social distancing, masking, and other restrictions made for a smaller participation in the 'Walk To Defeat ALS,' your students played their hearts out and made it feel like we were in a crowd-filled stadium. They were the stars of the event! [I] loved the playlist, and the theme song to ROCKY put me in tears - tears of gratitude, as so appropriate for the fight against ALS. My friend told me that her mother always said, 'When you DO GOOD, you will DO WELL.' Your students ... certainly did good.  Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for your support."
