Elite Sports Performance

Elite athletes don't rely on God-given talent alone. They put in relentless effort to pursue excellence in their craft. The MPC sports performance program takes strength and conditioning to the next level.

MPCS employs a full-time manager of sports performance. This role does not coach a team, but is fully dedicated to building and strengthening on both our male and female student-athletes. From curricular physical education to health and fitness, students learn how to train and care for their bodies. Athletic training consists of calisthenics, agility, weight-training, and proper nutrition. Additionaly, a certified trainer leads a team of sports med students who assist athletes with rehabilitation and game prep.

The strength program leads athletes in the annual Iron Eagle tradition of sports performance competition. The MPC Night of Champions allows football players who've developed their summer skills to participate in a strength competition and measure their progress. Explore more about the program in the recent "WingTips" blog:

Knox Athletic Performance Center

The MPC athletic facilities are fully equipped to support strength and athletic performance training on a daily basis. In addition to field training and batting facilities, the Knox Athletic Performance Center is the hub to all indoor practice, cardio, and strength training on campus. The facility is located behind the varsity football and baseball fields and includes sports med room, locker rooms, equipment storage, and two key performance spaces — the Shoch Strength and Conditioning Facility and the Johnson Indoor Training Facility.

MPC Athlete Nutrition

Our staff instills in athletes that their body is a gift from God and deserves to be cared for well. It has been designed like a high-performance engine. The quality of fuel our athletes put in directly affects their ability to perform at a high level to reach their full potential. Because of this, our catered lunch program incorporates meal combinations for athletes to fuel for training and competition. Additionally, we provide them with education on how to make healthy choices to help them further their athletic goals.
