At the conclusion of an extensive three-month national search that included qualified candidates from across the country, Mount Paran Christian School is pleased to announce the hiring of Head Varsity Football Coach and Director of Football Operations, Connie Arnold.
Mark your calendars for the the MPC athletics department annual Sports Physicals Day on May 7. Sign up for a specific time for your rising grades 5-12 student-athlete to get their sports physical done by PT Solutions (no walk-ins). Please be sure to fill out the related participation forms and update your records in the FACTS Magnus health portal as well.
We are pleased to announce that MPCS has selected Mike Walker to serve as Director of Athletics beginning July 1, 2025. The search committee chose Mr. Walker at the conclusion of an extensive national search that included talented and experienced administrators from K-12, collegiate, and professional athletic programs across the country. He brings to the job more than 20 years of experience in athletic leadership, most recently at Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas.
This spring, sign up to attend our volleyball, basketball, or flag football clinics right here on campus. Athletes in grades 3-7 will have the opportunity to train with our very own State Championship coaches and athletes!
Congratulations to Ryder Schaltenbrand '25, who made MPC wrestling history with an impressive second-place finish at the State Championship! His hard work and dedication to the sport have set a new standard for future athletes at MPC. Spring tryouts for baseball, track and field, lacrosse, soccer, and middle school swimming are underway. Take note of volleyball and cheer interest meetings and late spring tryout dates.
MPCS offers high school students who've earned a letter the opportunity to purchase a letter jacket. Letters are earned by playing a varsity sport, participating in an arts competition, or competing on an academic team (robotics/mock trial). During lunch next week on February 5, students can try-on jackets for size and get information on how to order online. Student who WEAR THEIR LETTER JACKETS or try-on for ordering will receive FREE PIZZA, compliments of Eagle Backers!
The American Baseball Coaches Association has recognized the varsity MPC Baseball team's performance off the field by awarding them the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. The boys achieved a combined 3.85 GPA last season and school year. This is an outstanding accomplishment. Amazing work Eagle Baseball!

The varsity cheer team competed among astute competition in GHSA 1A-3A private to bring home its 13th consecutive State Championship title! MPC cheer is the only cheerleading squad in the entire state, across any regional class, to have achieved the impressive feat of 13 consecutive cheer titles, starting with the 2012-2013 season and also holds the most consecutive championships for ANY sport in Cobb county. Congratulations to our athletes on this tremendous milestone!
Congratulations to our phenomenal student-athletes who signed to take their skills to the next level. During the fall 2024 National Signing Day high school assembly, MPC celebrated 13 players from the MPCS class of 2025 as they signed their collegiate athletic letters of intent in baseball, basketball, softball, lacrosse, and volleyball.

For middle and high school match-ups occurring in the Hughes Gym or Sewell Stadium, Eagle fans can tune in online or on their TV through the MPCS YouTube channel. Mount Paran Christian middle school athletics had a banner season this fall. Four teams reached the pinnacle in the Metro 10 league bringing home Championship titles: 7th/8th Football, Softball, "B" Volleyball, and Boys Golf. Congratulations to the players and coaches on a phenomenal season!
Many of our 2014 players were present at the Alumni Dinner to be honored in remembrance of a major milestone for MPC athletics. The 2014 football team was the first Cobb County based school to win a State Championship in 47 years. In just the seventh season of the program, the team went 14-0, winning the title at the Georgia Dome. Click to read the full story.
Congratulations to the 2024 boys varsity golf team for winning back-to-back State Championship titles. The players from the spring season team were presented with their State Champ rings at the football game in front of Eagle fans.
