Financial Assistance

We recognize that financing an independent school education is a significant commitment for many families. MPCS is dedicated to providing a Christ-centered education for families who seek such an environment, and we will work to help you make it possible.

 

MPCS allocates institutional dollars and donor contributions toward a designated fund to offer financial aid assistance for students in need. MPCS also works with the Georgia GOAL Student Scholarship Organization (SSO) to provide an opportunity for students who are transferring from a Georgia public school or homeschool program.

 

Once you have received an official admission notification of acceptance, you may then apply for consideration of financial assistance for the coming school year.

 

Financial assistance is based on need. The financial assistance committee will determine the eligibility of need and the amount of the award based on the amount of available funds, the number of applicants requesting assistance, and the need demonstrated by the applicant’s family. The school will determine whether assistance awards will come from general financial aid funds or Georgia GOAL funds.

 

All financial assistance applicants must complete a FACTS financial aid assessment application and provide tax records to verify eligibility. While there is not a specific due date to submit a request for assistance, the financial aid committee convenes in March to review requests and continues with monthly meetings until funds for the upcoming year are all allocated.

 

Students in grades K through 12 are eligible for consideration of financial assistance.

 

Financial assistance recipients must re-apply and meet all assistance eligibility requirements for financial aid each year. Students re-enrolling to MPCS may submit a financial assistance request as soon as they have submitted an application for re-enrollment. In order for the request to be reviewed for consideration, the account must be up-to-date, the re-enrollment notification of acceptance received, and all financial assistance application obligations met before a request for assistance will be considered. The completion of the financial assistance application is not a binding agreement that assistance is available or will be granted in future years.

 

The Admission Office will distribute and process all financial assistance materials. Letters of notification with financial assistance award information will be sent via e-mail to applicant families upon decision of the award.

 

For consideration of assistance, applicants must complete a FACTS, third-party assessment. FACTS will require a copy of the most recent tax return (including all schedules and all other supporting documentation), as well as a most recent copy of W-2 forms for both primary parent and spouse. In the case of divorce, parents who share custody must both supply FACTS information and may do so in separate applications to FACTS. Georgia GOAL is available to students transferring from public school or who have homeschooled for a minimum of one year. The Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program provides children throughout Georgia with Greater Opportunities for Access to Learning (GOAL). Students entering grades two through 12 must have attended a Georgia public school immediately prior to MPCS. All eligible GOAL applicants must provide a current academic year report card to MPCS. Kindergarten through second grade applicants must provide a birth certificate to MPCS to verify age eligibility.



 

Through institutional financial assistance funds, no more than 50 percent of the annual tuition will be awarded to any one student through the institutional financial assistance funds. Georgia GOAL financial assistance awards range from $1 to a maximum award of $10,387.00 tuition assistance per year to any one student through the GOAL funds. Any award amount will be applied to the tuition for the academic year it is awarded, and remaining tuition due will be divided into 10 monthly payments.

 

Funds are not transferable to another family member, even in the event of withdrawal.

 

The Georgia Special Needs Scholarship provides eligible students with the opportunity to attend private school. MPCS is able to offer support to some students with mild learning differences in the areas of reading, math, and language arts. Parents should submit the appropriate documents for a preliminary review, including any IEP, psychological education evaluation, two to three years of grade reports, and standardized test scores. The administration will review the information to provide initial feedback to the parents. If assistance is not awarded or the amount does not make it possible for the family to attend, and the student is unable to attend due to financial difficulties, the $750.00 deposit will be refunded upon receipt of a written withdrawal received by the Admission Office within 10 days of the financial assistance notification. In this case, the deposit will only be refunded if the financial assistance application process was completed through FACTS and a notification letter identifying the amount of financial assistance was provided to the applicant.

 

Communication between the applicant’s family and other families or staff regarding financial assistance awards is prohibited. Financial assistance is strictly confidential. Sharing information with others could lead to the revocation of the financial assistance award.
