Enabling students to maximize their God-given gifts and talents in a Christ-centered environment is the driving purpose of everything we do in the high school. Knowing each individual is gifted differently, we seek to achieve our goal by providing excellent opportunities in academics, arts, athletics, and co-curricular activities, all built upon a firm commitment to Jesus Christ. Regardless of individual interest level or academic strength, each student has the opportunity to cultivate his gifts and talents to the fullest potential.
Academically, the high school offers a wide range of curricular offerings challenging students to develop analytical abilities and problem-solving skills. With 18 Advanced Placement (AP) course offerings spanning the curriculum, students are challenged to pursue course content normally reserved for college. Honors courses, which are offered in every content area except Bible, provide additional academic challenges for students who wish to delve more deeply into a specific content area. The growing engineering program introduces students to the design and creation process in high demand throughout the modern business world. The Directed Studies program provides additional support for students with diagnosed learning needs.
Study abroad opportunities take our students around the globe to study literature, language, and culture on location. Recent trips include studies in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Spain, Greece, Italy, and Turkey. Stateside, students have the opportunity to study oceanography, complete with a capstone field trip to the Florida Keys.
As is the case in the classroom, the high school offerings in the arenas of arts and athletics are built around the commitment of maximizing individual interests and talents. Whether in the weight room, on the stage, or on the field of competition, our coaches, directors, and teachers provide excellent training for our students built around Christ. While the work often results in titles and accolades, more importantly, each individual student learns important lessons in teamwork, commitment, accountability, and the pursuit of excellence in all things.
