Spiritual Life ~ Walk in Truth

… academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment …

Spiritual Life at MPCS

The Spiritual Life Department is responsible for chapel, High School Retreat, and Spiritual Emphasis Day. The goal of each of these activities is to encourage every student to worship and make God a part of daily life. At Mount Paran Christian School, we want students to bring their faith to school, not leave it at the door.

Spiritual Life facilitates many avenues of worship. We are blessed to have a diverse student body, with many different denominations represented. This affords each student with many different styles of worship. This is a distinction that we do not want to lose. We seek to balance these numerous styles of worship with the foundational beliefs of orthodox Christianity.

Community Service & Missions

Opportunities to participate in service projects in the community as well as overseas mission trips provide students with an outlet to share their talents and their faith.

Recent mission opportunities include trips to:

  • The Dominican Republic
  • Costa Rica
  • Cambodia - MPCS supports a sister school here, the Mount Paran Learning Center in Siem Reap

Community-wide Service Day

Closer to home, students serve the community through club activities and events. Additionally, every MPCS student comes together for an annual Community-wide Service Day.

High School Retreat

Each fall, the high school students, along with faculty and staff, attend a two-day retreat. The purpose of this retreat is to:

  • Give students the opportunity to come to a deeper understanding of who they are in Christ.
  • Promoting class and school unity.
  • Build strong social relationships with fellow students and faculty.
  • Develop leadership and team-work skills.

Students have a great time participating in skits, outdoor activities, worship, and devotions. Each student expected to attend, and the cost of the retreat is included in tuition fees.

Spiritual Emphasis Week

Our students participate in a Spiritual Emphasis Week where specific time is dedicated for spiritual reflection and renewal.

The students spend time in small groups led by their teachers, where they discuss issues such as how their faith applies to their everyday lives. It challenges students to take their faith seriously, and not allow it to become a thoughtless routine.

Moms In Touch Prayer Group

"Moms In Touch" is a group of MPCS mothers who meet each Friday morning, from 8:00-9:00 in the artist reception room of the Murray Arts Center, to pray for the school, students, teachers and staff of Mount Paran Christian School.

The Purpose of Moms In Touch
  • To pray that our children will receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, then stand boldly in their faith.
  • To pray for teachers and staff.
  • To pray that teachers, administrative staff, and students would come to faith in Jesus Christ.
  • To provide support and encouragement to moms who carry heavy burdens for their children.
  • To pray that our schools will be directed by biblical values and high moral standards.
  • To be an encouragement and a positive support to our schools.
