Tribute to Ms. Nikki Alexander, Class of '93

On behalf of Mount Paran Christian School and the Alumni, we pay tribute to Ms. Nikki Alexander, Class of '93.

In the words of her grandmother, Beatrice Dunston, "God put His arms around Nikki April 6, 2010 and carried her to heaven."

Nikki's family shared, "She was filled with the joy of the Lord and all who knew her experienced the love and blessings of the Lord."

Nikki attended MPCS from first grade through twelfth grade and she was Salutatorian of the graduating class of 1993. Former classmate, Shawn Holland, shared words of fond remembrance for his lifelong friend.

Our prayers and condolences are with her family and friends.

Mr. Brad Banks
Class of '09
7th Grade Science Teacher

Our very own Mr. Brad Banks, 7th grade Science teacher, is an alumnus of Mount Paran Christian School. Brad graduated from MPCS in 1990 and completed his undergraduate studies from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Middle School Education, concentrating in Science and Math.

Brad has been teaching at Mount Paran for 12 years in middle school science. Brad is married to Noelle and they have two sons, Christian (4), and Landon (9 months). Christian is following in his dad's footsteps and is a current MPCS student in our Preschool program. Christian will become a Mount Paran alumnus in 2024! Many students' lives have been enriched in the world of Science by having Mr. Banks as their teacher and we are blessed to have him as part of the Mount Paran faculty.

JD graduated from Lee University with a B.A. degree in Communications and History. He is currently attending the University Of Georgia School Of Law. JD resides in Athens, GA.

Ms. Esther Gribble
Esther is a current student at Berry College.

Mrs. Brittany Sigman Holbrook
Brittany is currently working as an office manager for Georgia Energy Control. She is married to Scott and they have a son, Josiah (15 mo.) and their second child is due in February 2009. They reside in Powder Springs, GA.

Mrs. Caroline Clemenger Josef
Caroline graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently teaching fifth grade at Toccoa Elementry School. Caroline is married to Joshua and they reside in Toccoa, GA.

Ms. Caroline Janas
Caroline graduated from Samford University with a B.S.E. in Physical Education and Athletic Training. She is currently working at Mount Paran Christian School as a Lower School PE teacher. Caroline resides in Marietta, GA.

Mr. Todd Muse
Todd graduated from John Hopkins University with a degree in Political Science. He was a four year member of the JHU baseball team and played in Europe the summer of 2004 when JHU played in the German Open. The German Open was a Pre-Olympic tournament and JHU represented the U.S. Todd is continuing his education at Florida Coastal Law School.

Mrs. Tara O'Dell Ellison
Tara graduated from Kennesaw State University with an degree in Education. This past summer she completed her master's degree from KSU in Early Childhood Education. She is married to Chris Ellison, who is a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. They are residing in Quantico, VA.

Class of 2001

Mr. Jared Davis
Jared graduated from Shorter College with a B.F.A. degree in Theatre Performance. He teaches improvisation and acting for Christian Youth Theatre in Alpharetta and performs with PlayRight Productions. Jared resides in Kennesaw, GA.

Mrs. Aimee Bermingham Miller
Aimee graduated from Georgia State University with a B.S. degree in Nutrition. She will begin an internship program in August 2009 to complete the requirements to become a Registered Dietitian. Aimee created and manages an online eating disorder support board. She is married to Jared and they have a son, Logan (2 mo.) They currently reside in Alpharetta, GA

Mrs. Melanie Jones Sotomayor
Melanie received her undergraduate degree from Georgia State University. She continued her education at Palm Beach Atlantic School of Pharmacy where she received her Doctorate in Pharmacy. Melanie is currently working as a pharmacy manager. She is married to Justin Sotomayor and they reside in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Mr. Chase Williams
Chase graduated from Samford University with a dual degree in Communications and Spanish. He is currently working in pharmaceutical sales. He is married to Kristen and they reside in Bessemer, AL

Mr. Adam Wright
Adam graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, with a degree in Radio Broadcasting. As a student, Adam was involved in his campus radio station as well as several other Christian rock radio programs. Adam moved back to Atlanta a few years ago and currently works for Carter and Associates in the commercial property management department. He resides in the Virginia Highlands area with his dog Chopper.

Mrs. Brandy Potts Marcinko
Brandy graduated from Kennesaw State University where she received a BBA degree in Marketing and is currently working on her MBA degree from Kennesaw State University. Brandy was recently married to Scott Marcinko on April 17, 2007. They reside in Jasper, GA.

Mrs. Laine Slevinski Schmidt
Laine graduated from Florida State University with a degree in History. She is currently working on her Masters degree in Educational Leadership. She and her husband Brad, reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she is teaching middle school history and performing arts at a private school in the area. They have one son named Max.

Class of 1999

Mr. Richard Kvale
Richard completed a five year apprenticeship in the electrical trade. He is currently a foreman for a local electrical company. He resides in Conyers. GA.

Class of 1998

Mr. Adam Bach
Adam received his BA degree from Furman University and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is married to Jamie and they currently reside in Greenville, SC

Class of 1997

Mr. Todd Hewatt
Todd received his Associate degree from Reinhardt College and is currently working as a project manager for Hewatt Electrical Contractors. He is married to America Hewatt and they have two children: Ruth (3) and Elijah (4 mo.) They reside in Kennesaw, GA.

Class of 1996

Mr. Shane Williams
Shane graduated from Samford University with a degree in Philosophy. He is currently working in computer networking. He is married to Christie and they have a 2 year old son named Owen. They reside in Marietta, GA.

Mrs. Jennifer Moran Ray
Jennifer attended Reinhardt College where she received her Associates in Liberal Arts. She is married to Brent and they reside in Atlanta, GA.

Mrs. Angela Wells Rodriguez
Angela graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Business. She currently has a home based business for professional organizing. She is married to Rudy Rodriguez and they have two children: Anna Marie (4) and Issac (2). They reside in Cumming, Georgia.

Class of 1994

Mrs. Erin Cheek Robbins
Erin graduated from Samford University with a degree in Secondary Education/Social Sciences. She received her Masters in History Education from the University of Alabama. She achieved National Board Certification in 2004 with emphasis in Early Adolescence/Social Studies-History. Erin is married to Chris and they have two children: Anna (4) and Clay (1). They currently reside in Birmingham, AL.

Class of 1992

Mrs. Lindsay Williams Galloway
Lindsay attended Samford University where she received her degree in Education. She is married to Tim Galloway and they have three children: Ethan (7), Summer (2), and Lucy (6 mo.) They reside in Marietta, GA.

Mrs. Jennifer Barta Knox
Jennifer graduated from the University of San Diego with a BBA degree. She and her husband, Micah, live in Auburn, Washington where they currently pastor a church in Seattle, Washington. They have four children; Faith, Hope, Grace, and Justice.

Class of 1991

Mrs. Sabrina Barbrick Howry
Sabrina attended the University of Georgia and Kennesaw State University and received a B.S. degree in Communication. She is the VP of Howry Consulting Group, Inc. Sabrina is married to Jim and they have 2 children: Jimmy (4), and Lois (4 mo.) They reside in Snellville, GA.

Mr. John P. Kown, II
John received his B.A. in Marketing and Professional Sales from Kennesaw State University. He is married to Stacey and they have a daughter, Eden (17 mo.) They are expecting their second child in March '09.

Ms. Carla White
Carla graduated from Auburn University with a BA in Communications and Political Science. After graduation, Carla worked with the 1996 Olympic Committee in the communications department. She has been involved in public speaking for several Fortune 500 companies and helped with media organization of events. In January 2008, she started an internet real estate media group for touring of homes.

Class of 1990

Mr. Chad Jones
Chad graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Management degree. He continued his education at the George Washington University and received his Masters in Project Management. Chad has worked in the IT industry for 15 years and he is currently working as a Senior Project Manager for a local business. He is married to Malinda Jones and their children are: Ethan (7), Callie (5), Tyler (3), and Owen (10 months). Chad and his family reside in the Cartersville area.

Class of 1989

Mrs. Jennifer Miller Hughes
Jennifer graduated from Kennesaw State University where she received her B.S. in Elementary Education. She is married to Tony and they have three sons: David (6), John Michael (4), and Matthew (2). The Hughes' reside in Canton, GA.

Mrs. Amanda Satterfield Lear
Amanda graduated from Shorter College with a BAA degree in Marketing. She is married to Scott and they have a son, Zachary (4). They reside in Woodstock, GA.

Class of 1988

Mr. Paul Brewer
Paul is an executive chef in upstate New York. He is also a local musician with his brother Jamie Brewer. He has been married to his wife, Holly, for ten years and they have two children, son Noah (6), and daughter Rowan (2). The family resides in Avon, New York. Paul says, "I had the pleasure of seeing some of my old classmates last year. Thank you all for coming out."

Mr. Chad Cowan
Chad graduated from Georgia State University. He is married to Donna and they have two children, Chase (5) and Campbell (3). Chad and his family currently reside in Virginia.

Mrs. Sherry Stickler Grote
Sherry graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Marketing. She is a marketing communications manager in the wireless industry. Sherry is married to Adam Grote (an MPCS ’89 alumni) and they have two children, Jonathan (5) and Alexis (3). Adam and Sherry are in seminary and they are working toward their ordinations by the end of this year. Sherry says, "Life is full, but we are so blessed because the Lord is good."

Mrs. Dena Glaze Hoggard
Dena graduated from Lee College with a B.A. degree in Psychology. She is currently working as a realtor with Keller Williams Realty. She is married to David Hoggard and they have three children: Danielle 14, Conor 11, and Ema 5. The family resides in Paulding County.
