Varsity Girls' Golf
Congratulations to the 2010 varsity girls’ golf team who recently captured their first region championship, defeating seven other schools at the 5A region tournament. Their team score of 189 bested defending champion Holy Innocents by 5 shots. The region title qualified the girls to compete in the state tournament at Bull Creek Golf Club in Columbus, where they finished 11th in their first appearance in state competition. Not only is this the team’s first title in school history, it was won with four underclassmen! Kaitlyn Camp and Holly Cannon, both freshmen, supplied the team’s low scores at the region tournament, and sophomore Clarice Cannon, who was low medalist in five of six matches during the season, posted the team’s low score at state. Congratulations on a great season!
